# Email

The email exporter can attach your files in two different ways:

* Attach as Files
* Attach a Zipped Archive (with the option to encrypt the files with a password)

There's a limit of 20 Mb for attachments as this is the limit of many email providers.

Email is sent using Filestar Send service. As soon as the email has been sent we remove all files from our backend.

{% hint style="info" %}
This is a very new feature in Filestar and we have loads of ideas on how to improve it:

* Sending through your own provider: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, SMTP or IMAP.
* Sending larger files that are end-to-end encrypted with an option to deliver the password through SMS.

**Please take our** [**Exporter Survey**](https://airtable.com/app3chq6WRUMyVckS/shrabCipV859w0pB6) **and let us know what you think.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.filestar.com/advanced/exporters/email.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
